Brian King

Director and Chief Financial Officer

Brian King has over 30 years of finance and real estate investment experience. After earning an MBA in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, King began his career in banking at Chemical Bank in New York and later Houston in the oil and gas division. King was later recruited to Chicago to lead an investment team to complete a $125MM leveraged buyout of the largest independent beverage company in the City.

After successfully managing the disposition of the investment firm's assets, King joined the venture capital firm of the Chicago Capital Fund as Director of Mezzanine products. In addition to managing the debt products, King successfully turned around one of the CCF's investment companies, Genesis Communications, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 1994. King's finance career led him to join the boutique investment bank of P.E. Capital, an Atlanta-based investment bank involved in real estate investment and acquisitions. In addition to financing traditional real estate investments, King managed a $300MM Department of Education's Capital Investment Program. King also led the $160MM financing for the acquisition and re-imaging of 100 Churchs Chicken Restaurants throughout the Midwest.

In early 2000, King joined E.W. Bowen & Company as Director of Real Estate Development and led the acquisition, assemblage and financing of over $150MM in target sites for projects including mixed-use residential, student housing, senior healthcare, and medical office. King recently joined Charlotte-based Sanctuary-Residential as a Director and will oversee the opening of their Atlanta office. King is also an adjunct professor of Real Estate Finance and Investments at his alma mater Morehouse College where he graduated Summa cum Laude in Finance and Accounting.
